How to Receive High School Credit from Power-Glide

Earning high school credit for foreign language through Power-Glide is very simple. You can receive up to two full years of credit in Spanish, French, or German if you complete the entire two year course and the challenge process for each year. If for some reason you only need a semester of credit, you can choose to complete the semester requirements for .5 credit. You will pay a challenge fee when you turn in your portfolio and before receiving your exam. The following steps outline the challenge process:

1. Purchase the Ultimate Adventure course for French, German, or Spanish. Each course includes two years (four semesters) of instruction, and you can choose to complete either year 1, year 2, or both.



2. Work through the course using the Academic Guide and course materials. Make sure to take the written tests in the Academic Guide as well as the online progress tests. The progress tests are a tool available to you to check on your progress, and you can take them as many times as you would like. The answers for the written tests are at the end of the Academic Guide.



3. Complete the portfolio requirements.



4. Send your completed portfolio and challenge fee to:

   Please include the following information: your name, phone number, social security number (for your transcript), and the year (or semester) for which you are challenging for credit. Also include the name, business address, and phone number of your proctor.



5. The registrar will send your final test to your proctor. Complete your final test and return it to Power-Glide. A certified teacher will issue a grade based on your portfolio and final test and will return your portfolio with your report card.
